  1. The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a Revenue District basis subject to the Special conditions laid down in GO (MS) No.154/71/PD, dated 27/5/1071.  A candidate advised for appointment in one Revenue District from the Ranked List so prepared is not eligible for transfer to another District unless he/she completed five (5) years service in the former District.  Even if, transfer is allowed after five (5) years, it will be subject to the orders contained in G.O (MS) No.4/61 PD dated 2/1/1961.  Candidates already in Government service, holding the post in one District are restricted from applying for the same post in another District.  But they can apply for higher posts.  For appointment in the Head Quarters vacancies no separate option is necessary.  They will be considered for appointment in the Head Quarters vacancies even without such option.  Vacancies arising in the Head Quarters will be filled up according to the terms and conditions of GO (MS) No.154/71/PD dated 27/5/1971 commencing from Thiruvananthapuram District.

4.      Candidates who wish to get appointments as Lower Division Clerk in Kerala State Archives Department should note clearly at the top of the Side B of their applications.  “For appointment in the State Archives Department also”.  If it has not been noted in the application, such application will not be considered for appointment in the State Archives when turn for recruitment arise.  When the Ranked List for the post is published the fact whether the candidates are willing to be appointed in the State Archives Department will be noted against their names.  Such candidates are eligible for appointment in other Departments also as and when their turn for recruitment arises.   If a person is once advised for appointment in the State Archives Department he will not be further considered for appointment in any other Department on the basis of that select list.  Persons appointed as Lower Division Clerk in State Archives Department have to undergo during the period of probation, and in service training in ‘old scripts’ as may be prescribed by Government.

  1. The List of selected candidates published by the Commission shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years provided that the said list will not continue to be in force if a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year is published.  Recruitment will be made for the above vacancies and also for the vacancies reported for Special Recruitment from ST only during the pendency of the list.
  1. The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a Revenue District basis subject to the Special conditions laid down in GO (MS) No.154/71/PD, dated 27/5/1071.  A candidate advised for appointment in one Revenue District from the Ranked List so prepared is not eligible for transfer to another District unless he/she completed five (5) years service in the former District.  Even if, transfer is allowed after five (5) years, it will be subject to the orders contained in G.O (MS) No.4/61 PD dated 2/1/1961.  Candidates already in Government service, holding the post in one District are restricted from applying for the same post in another District.  But they can apply for higher posts.

3.The name of the District, ie.  Thiruvananthapuram to which appointment is desired should be noted in the relevant column of the application and application should be sent to the District Officer of the Public Service Comission, Thiruvananthapuram

4.      Candidates from the Ranked List will be advised for appointment against the Head Quarters vacancies also.

Note: - Applications received from candidates other than Scheduled Tribe candidates will be rejected.  Individual communications regarding the rejection of their applications for the above reason will not be issued.

Age Limit

:

Should have completed 18 (Eighteen) years and should not have completed Forty  (40) years as on 1-1-2004.  (No other age relaxation will be allowed)

Note:- In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit the upper age limit shall be relaxed up to 50 years.  But in no case the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (Fifty) years.

  1. Qualifications:-
  1. Pass in Std VII (New) or equivalent
  2. Must be physically fit

Note:-

1.       The physical fitness shall be proved by a certificate obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon

2.       Physically handicapped persons and women are not eligible to apply for this post

Appointments are made subject to the rank secured in the Ranked List of candidates prepared in pursuance of this Notification subject to the conditions laid down in G.O (MS) 25/94/GAD 22.1.94 and G.O (P) 21/76/PD dated 17.1.1976 allowing Special Reservations to and Scheduled Tribes in accordance with the procedures made for this purpose from time to time and subject to the rules under sections 3(C ), 17(a), 17 (b) of Part II of Kerala State and Subordinate Service Rules 1958.

2.      Ability to ride a bicycle for the posts of Peon and Chowkidars

Note:-

1.      Physically Handicapped persons are not eligible for appointment to the post in the Last Grade Service of Watcher, Watchman and Maker (Medical College, Collegiate Education and Technical Education Department) and Regular marker (Animal Husbandry Department )

3.      Candidates possessing Cycling qualifications should note the fact in the relevant column of the application.

3. Only persons professing Hindu Religious faith alone will be appointed to post in the Hindu Religious and charitable Endowment Department

4.      Only one common Ranked List will be prepared for the various posts in the Last Grade Service.  Those who possess cycling qualification will be selected and advised against vacancies in the post of Peon and Chowkidars which require cycling qualification.  Female candidates and Physically Handicapped persons are exempted from the condition of cycling qualification for appointment as Peon.  Those without cycling qualification  will be considered for other posts included in the Last Grade Service along with candidates possessing cycling qualification as well.
