Age Limit

    7.       Qualifications:

              1.  Must have passed SSLC Examination or equivalent Examination.

             2.  Must possess current Motor Driving Licence with endorsement for Driving Heavy    Goods Vehicles or Heavy Passenger Vehicles.

             3.  Must not be less than 160 cms in height (without footwear).  Must not be less than

                  48 Kgs in weight and must not be less than 76 cms round the chest with a minimum expansion of not less than 6 cm.

Note: -1. Women candidates and Physically Handicapped persons are not eligible to apply for the post.

          2.  A Physically Efficiency Test will be conducted by the Commission to assess the physical standards and suitability of the candidates for the arduous nature of work.  Must qualify in at least 5, out of the 8 items of physical efficiency test showing the minimum standards of efficiency noted against each item (Physical measurements of the candidates will be taken before the commencement of the physical efficiency test.  Candidates with required physical measurement alone will be admitted for the physical efficiency test).

               4.  Candidate should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon Grade II as to their Physique, Fitness, and Capacity for rough out door work and also of the visual standards, if they satisfy the physical measurements and come out successful in the Physical Efficiency Test.

Preferential: - Other conditions being equal the Home Guard Volunteers, who have completed a term of three years in that organization and who have satisfactorily undergone training in Fire fighting, during the period of tenure, will be treated as having preferential qualification for direct recruitment to the post.

Probation:  - Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty, after he completes the training and examination be on probation for a total period of two years on duty, within a continuous period of three years.

Training:     - Selected candidates should undergo a course of training for a period of 4 months in the State Fire Service Training School and pass the examination in the subject prescribed for the course.

Note: - A Written and Practical Test will be conducted at the close of training.  Those who fail to qualify themselves at the test, will have their training extended for a period of one month at the end of which, they will be tested again in the subjects in which they have failed.  Those who fail to qualify themselves in the retest will be discharged from service.]

Bond: - Every person appointed to the post shall execute a bond intending to serve the Force for a period of not less than 5 years and to pay to Government a sum of

                       Rs.2700/- in case of failure to serve in the Force for the said period.

          2. The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a Revenue District basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O. (Ms) No.154/71/PD dated 27.5.1971.  A candidate advised for appointment in the Revenue District from the ranked list so prepared is not eligible for transfer to another District unless he/she completed 5 years service in the former district.  Even if transfer is allowed after 5 years service in the former district. Even if, transfer is allowed after 5(five) years it will subject to the orders contained in G.O. (Ms) No.4/61/PD dated 2.1.1961.  Candidates already in Government Service, holding the post in one district are restricted from applying for the same post in another district. But they can apply higher posts when notified.

             3. Candidates are not eligible to apply for the same post in more than one district.  If a candidate applies to more than one district and gets selected, his/her selection will be cancelled and disciplinary action will be taken against him/her.

            4. The name of the District to which appointment is desired should be noted in the relevant column in Side B of the application and also should darken the bubbles on Side A of the application and application should be sent to the concerned District Office of the Public Service Commission.
