(Applicants are directed to refer Part IB of Gazette Dated 25 March 2008)

Applications are invited for the Departmental Examinations to be held by the Kerala Public Service Commission in July 2008.  Applications should be submitted in the prescribed form.  Applications not in the prescribed form will be rejected. The examinations will be held in the following centres.

     Candidates are not permitted to opt Examination Centres according to their will or choice. Examination Schedule and the institutions in which the examination are held will be published in due course.  Copies of Examination Time Table will not be sent to the candidates individually.

      The Departmental Examinations are limited to the persons who are in the service.  Application from others will be rejected.

      Application Fee for each paper is Rs.20/- and the Head of Account for remitting the fee in the Treasury in “0051 PSC 105 State PSC ’99 Examination Fee.”  Original Chalan Receipt is to be submitted along with the application for the Departmental Test.  Candidates outside Kerala can remit the fee by crossed Postal Order payable to the Secretary, Kerala Public Service Commission, and Thiruvananthapuram-4.  Fee remitted by Postal Orders by candidates inside Kerala will not be accepted and their applications will be rejected for that reason itself.  Fee once remitted will not be returned.     

  No fee is prescribed for the candidates who got appointment by Direct Recruitment/By Transfer for the tests which are obligatory for the completion of probation/training or for getting increment/permanent appointment in a post or for promotion to a higher post or for the continuation in a post without penalty.  This concession is available to a candidate for only one chance if a candidate applied with Fee Concession as aforesaid but failed to appear in the examination, he would not get the Fee Concession for another chance.  Fee concession is allowed for each test and not for each paper in a test.  Head of the Department/Head of Office should certify in the application of the candidates who are eligible for fee concession.

     Those who prefer to answer in Malayalam should indicate it in the 6th column in the Application Form as well as against the respective paper in the Admission Ticket.

     Those who applied for the Unified Village Manual Test should submit along with the application the self attested copies of certificates to prove their general educational qualifications.

       As regards the Tests, against which the term ‘With Books’ is not shown in the Syllabus given below, the candidates should write the answer without the help of Books.  The term ‘With Books’ means prescribed Text Books published by the Government alone-related amendment therein and Act and Rules published by the Government.
